LPGA: State Farm Classic a Solheim Cup Tune-Up

So confident of a win is the 19-year old who will most certainly earn the honor of Rolex Rookie of the Year that she had this to say to her European competitiors.

Sunday golf

[BrianÃ¢€™s Blog] Well yesterday, after a misty start, it turned out to be a lovely day and Orchard Leigh is an excellent course. Unfortunately North Wilts only won two of the five matches so the Frome guys made full use of the home advantage, although I am pleased to say that Nick (my partner) and I managed to win our game (5 holes up and four to play).

[A Golfing Michigander] There was a golf boom in Michigan peaking a few years ago. These are some of the side effects - too many courses, not enough players, and too much of a temptation to sell valuable land to developers who are building $400k++ houses at an amazing pace.

LPGA: Paula Creamer Sensational in Japan

After carding three straight bogey-free rounds Creamer finished the tournament with a 4-under 68 yesterday, three strokes ahead of Miyazato who shot a 69.

Golf- The PGA Championship at Baltusrol

[Everything Sports] If anyone can come back from to disasterous rounds it is Tiger Woods, he has done it before and with Mickelson's history of choking at the end even if he has a comfortable lead anything is possible. All Tiger has to do is stay under control and not take a lot of crazy chances thinking he has to get back in the hunt.

PGA Championship in HDTV this weekend

[HD Beat] Kudos to the PGA and CBS: for the second year in a row, the final major golf championship of the year will be broadcast in 1080i HD. I know that at least one person commented about golf in our "what do you want to see in HD?"

[The Post Game:The Best Damn Sports Blog ... Period] Then put the best golfers on a course designed by Marquis de Sade: 7400 yards, par 70, shortest par 3 is 194 and two 500 yard par 4s. For those of you who don't believe size is everything, add in more undulation than Carmen Electra, tight fairways, bunkers and small greens and you have a course that separates the best of the pros from the rest of the pros.

LPGA: Morgan Pressel Victorious at 105th U.S. Women's Amateur

[clever peasantry] Yesterday afternoon, Kid A, Kid B and I packed up the Burly Bee and headed off to the Nokomis library to pick up about 20 CDs from the Alan Lomax collection. Alan Lomax is one of the greatest musical contributors of the 20th Century.

Congrats Tiger!

[just mitch] I’ve been following Tiger’s career from day one, and I must say that if any golfer deserves to win this year’s British Open (besides Nicklaus, that is), it’s Tiger. I would rather have seen Nicklaus win it (you know, him being one of the greatest golfers of all time stepping away from the majors and all, but with the heir to the golfing throne stepping up to the tee box, I’d say it was a good show all in all!

Team Rick and the Member/Guest

[Random Musings] First we had the MSN Tournament where I played with Paul, Dan, and Kevin. As a team, we did really well and unfortunately some other teams did even better and we ended up, I believe, in 4th place.
