Golf: Grzebien, Francella lead at LPGA stop in South Korea ...

[Honolulu Advertiser - Breaking news] INCHEON, South Korea — Anna Grzebien and Meaghan Francella each shot a 6-under 66 in wet but comfortable conditions Friday for a share of the first-round lead at the LPGA Tour's KOLON Championship.

[LPGA.com News & Entertainment] HELEN ALFREDSSON, Player Director: As a golfer you don't really always know what's happening in boardrooms and so forth, but personally every time -- not judge somebody, but we have three H's that I call humor, honesty and heart, and it's funny because Mike really fit in all of those categories, and then when you read his bio and how successful he's been, especially in even small businesses, which is similar to the LPGA, it seemed to clear to me from the very beginning when I first met Mike that he would be such a great commissioner for us.

LPGA and IMG Media sign extension to international TV partnership

Layoffs at LPGA headquarters - Golf Truth & Rumors

[Golf Truth & Rumors] The recession reached into LPGA headquarters Wednesday when the cash-strapped tour eliminated the deputy commissioner position and laid off seven other staffers, according to sources familiar with the situation. The only eliminated position confirmed by the tour was that of Libba Galloway, a lawyer who was elevated to the newly created position of deputy commissioner by then-commissioner Carolyn Bivens.
