[19th Hole - The Golf Blog From Your Golf Travel] With Tiger Woods, the biggest draw in golf taking an indefinite leave, it puts the tour in the unenviable position of trying to keep those television ratings up while its most popular attraction has disappeared.

[Mediaite] Tiger Woods: Golf Media vs. PR Machine (Update) | Columnists ...: I could not agree more that Tiger has the right to “plead the fifth” in this matter, even though IMO I feel he is doing so to either hide the fact that he was under the influence or there may have been a domestic dispute involving a physical altercation.
[Golf Press] Placed on the clock - Golf Press: Harrington, always a deliberate player, held a one-stroke lead over Woods as they stood on the 16th, nicknamed The Monster decades ago by Arnold Palmer after he made an awful eight on the hole (the symmetry is duly noted). Then Paramor, who had issued a warning to the pair on the sixth hole to speed up, informed them they were being timed with a stopwatch.

[Georgia State Golf Association] Getting My Blog On”¦Rules School Style! « Georgia State Golf ...: So with all of that being said, I will finally get to the point of this whole blog. Before I embark on a new season of being the Official in Charge at various statewide competitions I must complete a most unenviable task. I must survive four days of a brutal, grueling, exhausting learning process called the 4-day PGA/USGA Workshop on the Rules of Golf. I must hone my skills and ascertain a mastery of the Rules of Golf. Three intense sunrise to sunset days filled with Rules 1-34, Decisi0ns covering 1200 golf situations and countless questions of hypothetical nonsense posed by people that are too smart for their own good and have way too much time on their hands to dream up crazy scenarios that would never ever happen on a golf course. And what does all of that get you….the hardest exam known to mankind. Can’t you feel the love in the air? Yes, I dread it. The weeks and months I should have been preparing in advance have passed me by. I have one month to go and I am just getting started (hopefully this weekend). For someone with a Masters degree and numerous years of schooling, why is this the hardest three hour test ever concocted? I walk out of that room feeling like I just got run over by a semi-truck. It takes mere minutes to mentally snap once the last bubble is filled in, hours to decompress after that, days to recover mentally and physically and an entire competitions season with GSGA to dispense all of the knowledge I hopefully retained. All to do it again, year after year after year.
[Golf Management Blog by Legendary Golf Management - Golf Management Company] Golf Management Blog by Legendary Golf Management - Golf ...: The return of an Initiation Fee can make sense if there is a sound business reason behind the plan and it works very well if the Club is in a great market and is enrolling new members at a rapid pace. However, more often than not, membership velocity begins to slow long before the Club has reached a full complement of members and members who have decided to resign cannot be repaid at the time they wish to resign.
[Biggest Quits] Biggest Quits: People Who Didn't Make the 2009 List: Will Wright: Tiger Woods, the #1 ranked male golfer in the world, has won 14 major golf championships, 71 PGA events, and is a 10-time PGA "Player of the Year." Well, no one's arguing that he is not a 10-time player. After several self-proclaimed "transgressions," Woods took an indefinite leave from golf, but his many endorsements chose a more permanent route, and quit affiliating with Tiger Woods.
[Swamigp's Sports Blog] Much to Nantz's chagrin, Cabrera wins Masters « Swamigp's Sports Blog: It was a great shot, considering the circumstances, but CBS played it repeatedly over the next three minutes–I counted 9 times over this period, not factoring in it’s play during the next hole, and thereafter. A few times would have been okay, to add to the drama and acknowledge the significance, but it was so excessive that it took away from the tournament’s excitement.
[Whatanews4u.Sports] BBC - BBC Sport: Iain Carter: Woods's only option was to step away: It was inevitable that this arrogance, fuelled by the subservience of his fellow professionals, press and the public alike would, in the end, lead to his downfall. He was Nero, Napoleon and Capone dressed in what he thought was a bullet-proof vest and has been brought down, like so many heroes in the past surrounded by self-serving acolytes, by an unchecked libido.
