[Golf FanHouse] This is Thompson's fifth LPGA tournament, and her highest finish came earlier this year at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where she finished t-21. She finished 35th at the U.S. Open this year, and will be 3-for-3 on made cuts if she somehow avoids a blow-up tomorrow.

[LPGA.com News & Entertainment] Second-round notes and interviews - LPGA.com: Thompson remains top amateur.  Third try is a charm for Alexis Thomson, of Florida, as she made the cut Friday at the 2009 U.S. Women's Open - her third appearance.  Thompson carded career-best U.S. Women's Open rounds during both days of the event to be tied for eighth at 2-over-par 144 (71-73).  The 14-year-old, home-schooled reigning U.S. Girls' Junior Golf Championship winner leads the seven amateurs who made the cut with 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links champion Jennifer Song two strokes back tied for 19th at 4-over-par 146 (72-74).   Tied for 28th at 5-over-par 147 are University of North Carolina sophomore Allie White (74-73) and 14-year-old Allison Lee (75-72), of California.  Both are making their first U.S. Women's Open appearance.

[Hound Dog LPGA] Angela Park - Hound Dog LPGA: The following week Park rebounded at Sybase, coming in T37 after making the cut with two shots to spare. After Angela MC'd Corning by one (the cut was -3 and she shot 71-71), it appeared she had gotten rusty in the post-KNC layoff and was playing her way back in a reasonable fashion.
