Top 100 Teachers[Top 100 Teachers] Why Michelle Wie has few friends on the LPGA Tour: If MW could play a full LPGA schedule I bet she'd end up in the top-10 on the money list next year. BUT to do it she's got to be humble enough to shed the "teen phenom" label, go to Q-school and then put in the hard work required to play a full schedule next year WITHOUT pretending she's "special" by playing any PGA events.

Golf fanhouse[Golf fanhouse] Michelle Wie Has Strong Finish to LPGA Season, Still Doesn't Have ...: Frankly, she could probably use some seasoning in a less stressful environment, but I'm in no position to tell Wie's father how to ruin his daughter's career. Which is why I fully expect her to go the LPGA sponsors exemption route for next season.

Top 100 Teachers[Top 100 Teachers] Wie's decisions befuddling to most: She stirred the ire of Annika Sorenstam, and many other LPGA players, by dropping out of Sorenstam's tournament when it appeared Wie would break the rule of 88. She did finish the year, though, with one great stat: she was the fifth-ranked female athlete in earnings for 2007 with $12 million (Annika is 6th with $11 million).

Posted Sports[Posted Sports] Golf: Woe is Michelle Wie: Prior to her withdrawal, LPGA officials are said to have been discussing the Tour’s obscure Rule of 88 ”” wherein any non-LPGA member who shoots a round of 88 is forced to withdraw and is barred (for one year) from competition in any events co-sponsored by the LPGA. When she withdraws, Wie had two holes left but was 14-over for the round and flirting with an 88 or worse.

It seems like there could be plenty of culprits in this story, such as Wie’s parents, Wie’s sponsors and even Wie herself.
