[LPGA.com News & Entertainment] Mizuno Classic First-round Notes and Interviews - LPGA.com: Homecoming for LPGA trio.  Of the 43 LPGA Tour members playing in this week's Mizuno Classic, three of them made the return to their homeland.  Ai Miyazato, Mika Miyazato and Momoko Ueda are three of the four Japanese players on the LPGA Tour in this week's field, and they hope to use the home-crowd to their advantage this week.  Ai Miyazato finished round one at Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club at 3-under-par 69 (35-34) putting her in a 13-player tie for eighth.  She became a Rolex First-Time Winner earlier this year at the Evian Masters Presented by Société Générale.  Mika Miyzato is a 2009 LPGA Tour rookie, and turned in a 1-over-par 73 (36-37) on Friday's first round.  Ueda, who calls Kumamoto, Japan, home, had the best day among the three at 4-under-par 68 (35-33).  Ueda recorded six birdies and two bogeys in the opening round, and is just two strokes back from Brittany Lang (33-33=66, -6).  Ueda won the Mizuno Classic in 2007 as a non-member of the LPGA Tour.

[SeoulSisters] 2009 Awards (4 of 12): Best Breakthrough « SeoulSisters: BB Song was the KLPGA’s top player in 2004 and 2005, but she somewhat faded from the spotlight in 2006, when Jiyai Shin took over the league.  Song went to Japan to play, but injuries and other issues prevented her from finishing full seasons in 2007 and 2008.  Thus, her official rookie year on that tour was not until this year, and if people had forgotten the former teen prodigy, she was quick to remind everyone what she was capable of!  She would go on to win the JLPGA’s Rookie of the Year award, one of the few Koreans to be so honored.  She did this thanks to two wins, both very important.  The first came at the Japan Women’s Open in early October, one of the JLPGA’s most important Majors.  She followed that up just a month later by winning the Mizuno Classic, the only event co-sanctioned by the LPGA and JLPGA.  That win gained Song membership on the LPGA for 2010, although it looks like she has decided to refuse that and remain on the Japanese tour.  At the Mizuno, BB collected a three shot win over a field that included some of the LPGA’s top players, including Lorena Ochoa and Jiyai Shin.

[Hound Dog LPGA] Top 70 - 2009 Final - Hound Dog LPGA: They each won one event, missed no cuts and were almost even in scoring and Top 10 average. I awarded Ai the position because although she finished one spot behind Kerr on the money list, the difference was only $2573 - less than two-tenths of a percentage point less, or a one-position difference in one event - and Miyazato earned her total in three fewer events.

[Waggle Room] Winner and Still Player of the Year...Lorena Ochoa! - Waggle Room: And Mika Miyazato is definitely close to Kim, Choi, and Ai-sama in overall game. Then there's Inbee Park and Eun-Hee Ji, who are too good to suffer the U.S. Women's Open curse for much longer.

[LPGA.com News & Entertainment] News for the week of September 21, 2009 - LPGA.com: Inbee Park, 2008 U.S. Women's Open Champion, will visit the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Club of Pleasanton (Calif.) later today. Park, who after her 2008 win donated $50,000 to The LPGA Foundation for Girls Golf programs and to provide equipment for girls in need as well as to help sponsor 'Girls Golf Days', will be on-site at the Pleasanton Golf Center at the Alameda County Fairgrounds starting at 3 p.m.

[Golf Links, Clubs and Courses] LPGA Tour - Mizuno classic - Shima-shi, Mie, Japan - Song Wins!:  Bo Bae Song is in first place at -11. Akane Iijima and In-Kyung Kim are in second place at -10. Rui Kitada is fourth at -9.

[Hound Dog LPGA] Top 70 - July 2009 - Hound Dog LPGA: Speaking of bad lines, Angela Park's five straight missed cuts (if you count her WD at the LPGA Championship as an MC like the Tour does) dropped her 29 positions. Brittany Lincicome has missed three cuts in her last five events.
