Off the Fringe: McLachlin thought nothing of it in part because while enduring a long wait on a tee, playing partners Brad Faxon and Glen Day both were checking football scores on a hand-held device. Seeing as how the PGA Tour has issues with spectators and their cell phones, it certainly doesn’t look good when its own players are using them on the course –
[Waggle Room] Dottie Pepper Says Christina Kim Has Ochocinco Syndrome - Waggle Room: [F]ormer LPGA star Dottie Pepper accused Kim of having "Ochocinco syndrome" and wrote in a column for Sports Illustrated: "I know Christina Kim loves the galleries and is a ham, but she should be a little more respectful of the game. [Comments for The Marmot's Hole] Effective 2009, LPGA Members Must Speak Passable English | The ...: There are quite a few examples of athletes who speak no English in the media and were quite charismatic and raised interest in their respective sports, such as Hideo Nomo, Ichiro, Yao Ming (in his early days). But perhaps part of this is due to the fact that professional baseball or basketball is just generally more appealing to watch and have better marketing than the LPGA (at least in my opinion- perhaps you would like to argue against that, blueballs??)

[waagnfnp] waagnfnp » Open Thread (#7): Fact is, there’s no perfect way to prepare yourself for the kind of competition on the best tour in the world, but in the medium run Wie will be a much better LPGA player for having weathered the pressure and scrutiny and expectations of her early career. When she becomes old enough to be a full-fledged LPGA member (next year?), I expect her to quickly rocket into the top 5 in the world and challenge Ochoa and Sorenstam for #1 by the end of that summer.
