Golf Sports Blog > PGA: Sluman Surges to First-Round Lead at The Memorial
[The Sand Trap .com - Golf News, Reviews, and Opinions for Golfers, By Golfers] Of course, Thursday and Friday at The Memorial are more a part of Jack Nicklaus' collective ego stroke than anything, and the media will no doubt fawn over Jack's +3 75. As well they should if for no other reason than his 75 beat world #1 Vijay Singh and Charles Howell III (77) by two, Mike Weir and John Daly by one (76), and Davis Love III (78) by three. Local knowledge had its advantages as Jack bounced two consecutive approach shots to within six inches (and bounced one tee shot off of a spectator's jaw, sending him to the hospital).
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[Adfunk Sport News] National Football League From Adfunk Sport News: The Pittsburgh Steelers were behind their longtime rival, the Oakland Raiders by the score of 7 to 6, facing fourth-and-ten on their own 40-yard line with 22 seconds remaining in the game and no time outs. Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw threw the ball to the Raiders' 35-yard line, toward fullback Frenchy Fuqua. Raiders safety Jack Tatum reached Fuqua just as the ball did. Tatum's hit knocked Fuqua to the ground.
[Postmodernes Sprachspielen] Jack and Diane [part IV - fin]: Startled, she dropped it to the ground and watched as the elastic, having achieved some critical point, began to unwind itself. Faster and faster the ball spun, the elastic hair spraying out around it like the Tasmanian Devil's wake until, finally, a tiny rubber ball popped out and bounced quietly away.
[Tao of Poker: A Poker Blog] Chapter 10: Closing Thoughts on Vegas"Somebody has...: Like I said: a game for idiots. I settled in with about $80 in chips and promptly ordered a jack and coke. The drink service at the Luxor (Otis had decided that a change of scenery would do us some good) was fast, and before I knew it, I'd lost about $30 in chips but consumed about four rounds of sweet booze filled cola. There was a really weird guy at the table with rancid breath and Otis and I decided it was time to bolt.Brian seemed a little overwhelmed at the tournament:
[Balkin.blogspot.com] Balkinization: Put another way, the Court must come up with a justification that insists, without directly saying so, that people who support the post-1954 Pledge because they think it endorses their religious beliefs are simply being unreasonable. In part this is because, as I pointed out last year, ceremonial Deism tries to have it both ways: it seeks to satisfy the religious sentiments and traditions of a large portion of the public while denying that anything particularly religious is going on. It can do this because the expression "under God" seems rather plain vanilla to most members of the public (that is, to those who are not atheists). If the words "under God" were changed to read "under Jesus Christ," or "under God whom we all believe in and adore" the religious meaning would no longer be backgrounded and the Court would not be able to accept the pledge as a form of ceremonial Deism.
[Upforanything.net] Up For Poker Blog: Garage Poker: Greenwood Phil was under the gun and raised about 3x the BB. G-wood (who I later found out is actually not from Greenwood at all) is a well-respected player who makes a regular trip to Tunica for tournament and ring play. As I figured out the most casual way to fold my small blind, G-wood picked up two callers. I watched his face, but found no reaction.
[Blog.850thebuzz.com] 850 The Blog: He finished as a runner-up there the past two years, but basically it was a karma pick since I thought that Carolina(Love being an alumnus) would do well here in DC and there would be some rub for DLII. BRAAAAGHT!!!---or whatever a buzzer sound effect would translate to---Carolina got bounced yesterday by Georgia Tech and Love shot a 78 on Saturday.
[Blog.mecworks.com] Mecworks BLOG: Google has one of the coolest features if you so any shopping online - Google Search by Number. If a shipping company has shipped your item and has a tracking number, most likely you can track it (without knowing the company’s website) by typing in the tracking number alone into google. If google knows about it, the result is the shipping company’s website with your tracking info. Very cool expecialy if you have packages being shipped by several courier companies.
[Bojack.org] Jack Bog's Blog: Academe Archives: Butler, Steve Kayles, Juanita V. Johnson, Dan Ryan, Charles McGee, III. My early reaction: I see a lot of Buel lawn signs. Between Juanita and LaMountain, I feel like I'm trapped in a Donovan song.
