[Jason] "I remember that even in my Asian American Studies classes, there were two or three Asian women who bragged how they only date white men. I distinctly remember one of them saying, 'I'm afraid an Asian man might beat me,' and another saying, 'Well, I've always been attracted to the Abercrombie and Fitch model type.'" But, I ask him, is that really representative?

Giglio's Open Window: With his massive following dressed in symbolic clothing and mesmerized by his every move, Tiger Woods is arguably as much a cult leader as David Koresh or Tom Cruise. Now, I’m not saying Woods is going to lead a mass suicide or force feed us insipid movies about samurais, Tiger’s relatively innocuous by comparison but his popularity is staggering.

[Hyphenmagazine.com] Hyphen Blog: Asian women, black men TV rerun: (3) most Asian-Ams who are born/raised here have little interest in watching "Asian fare" (nevermind the problems with different languages/cultures) - they want to see what their friends see (even young Hispanic Americans have left Spanish networks) - which is why the number of Hispanic male characters on network TV has exploded (does anyone expect black Americans to watch shows/films from Africa?) and (4) Asian-Americans, like everyone else, want to see images of people that they can relate to (that means Asian-Ams and not Asians).
