Golf Sports Blog > U.S. Women's Open - Who Should Be In? - Hound Dog LPGA
[Hound Dog LPGA] I don't know how many years the USGA has exempted five from each tour but I would imagine it's been this way for many years, to make sure that a goodly number of international players get welcomed into our national championship. [Shot Talk - Golf Forum] LPGA Championship - Shot Talk - Golf Forum: My point is that I'm an unremarkable athlete and an even more unremarkable golfer and I could smoke drives past 95% of the LPGA tour (and keep up with the other 5%) all day long. How that sort of ball striking makes for exciting golf is beyond me.
[Chicagoland Golf blog -- Phil Kosin's Worm Castings] Lift, clean and place? Not in USGA event no matter how much rain ...: I still say the USGA will go to one of those two states in 2017, and I strongly feel it will be here, at Cog Hill, because of its better necessary-infrastructure and the locale’s unrivaled wealth of corporate hospitality customers. Face it, the Open is the USGA’s cash cow and for that purpose, Cog beats Erin Hills hands-down.

[About.com Golf] Wie, Gulbis Fail to Qualify for U.S. Women's Open: Yep, without Gulbis and Wie, another LPGA tournament I won’t care about and won’t be watching this weekend. Another example of the idiotic LPGA shooting itself in the foot, not having the top 50 money winners automatically qualify for the U.S. Open, but allowing a ton of players who have no chance to win in on the strength of getting hot in a 36-hole qualifier.
