Golf Sports Blog > When Tiger Woods Plays Poorly, Talk Turns to Hank Haney's Job ...

[FanHouse] I am the biggest Tiger fan in the world, watch every tournament he's in. However he needs to realize that a bunch of kids watch him too and to see him throw a fit and swear every time he hit's a bad shot is not something the world's best known athlete needs to show people.

[Recent Posts] Taming The Tiger. Does Tiger Woods Need To Grow Up ? | The Bucking ...:  After his disastrous performance at the British Open, suddenly all the Tiger Woods haters are coming out of the bushes.  One by one, his critics are claiming that Tiger has "lost his swing", "lost his edge", "lost his composure", etc..

[The Scores Report - The National Sports Blog] Reilly: Woods needs to clean up his act: Yeah - it would be great if we didn’t have to watch him channel his inner Happy Gilmore every time he nailed one into the rough. But even though he’s a bit of a sore loser, Woods is an immense competitor and if guys like Reilly and Kiszla weren’t writing about his temper tantrums, they’d probably be criticizing him for not showing more fire and emotion when he plays.

[The Rookies] The Rookies » Blog Archive » The Art of Talking Down to Legends ...: He had democratized it, taking it away from country club sensibilities and giving it to the masses. This means that we don’t have to worry about all the honky pleasantries that have made golf clubhouses seem like a combination of a board room and the soundbooth of CarTalk for so long.

[TO Sports] Woods Acting Like A Wuss : T.O. Sports: By now, every golf fan knows that Tiger Woods has missed the cut at this years British Open, “It” happens, no biggie, everybody is entitled to a bad day on the links, or so you’d think. The fact that Tiger missed the cut is somewhat shocking, Tiger has only missed a cut twice in his career, what shocked me more was the way in which Tiger acted while he was going through his trials and tribulations.

[Jay Mariotti FanHouse] Time for Tiger to Begin Countdown to 19 -- FanHouse: For once Mariotti your article was going to good places until you brought in the racists,Earl Woods and Jim Brown hate(hated,in Earls' case) the white man, hence their aggressive stance to make the black man seem more superior,Tiger is a closer kin to the Koreans on the LPGA tour than he is to the African Americans, and I got 5 bucks that says that the arrogant,boring,brick-on-a-stick Eldrick doesn't finish in the top 5 at Turnberry. He may be the best golfer now,but he can't hold a candle to Jack when it comes to people and class.

[Chris Zelkovich's Sports Media Watch] Chris Zelkovich's Sports Media Watch: Secondly, and I don't mean to beat a dead horse but I totally take issue with your response because in both cases that you made a case of the too much Tiger coverage was the Masters and the US Open. I watched the final round of the Masters and Tiger Woods was 100% a THREAT to win it.

[Golf FanHouse] Tiger or Roger, Golf or Tennis? Which Performance Is More Dominant ...: For me, seeing Roger play tennis or Tiger play golf is every bit the same thrill as I used to get when I watched Jack Nicolas and Arnold Palmer golf, or Roger Staubuch pass a football into deep coverage, or Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith run the football through, over and around the line of scrimmage, or Sandy Koufax and Randy Johnson pitch a World Series no-hitter or Nolan Ryan pitch any game, or Michael Jordan's or Magic Johnson's ball handling/airborne miracle baskets, or Nadia Comaneci's gymnastics, or....I can think of dozens of thrilling feats of athleticism I have seen in dozens of sporting events over the years where athletes have done what seemed impossible for mere mortals.

[GOAZCATS.com Message Board] Tiger's Tantrums - GOAZCATS.com Message Board: Once, at Doral, he unleashed a string of swear words at a photographer that would've made Artie Lange blush, and then snarled, "'The next time a photographer shoots a [expletive] picture, I'm going to break his [expletive] neck!"

[Press Tent] Live British Open Championship coverage: Round 2 - Press Tent: Utterly shameless name-drop: Last year, I spent some time with Steve Williams for a piece on Steve and his relationship with Tiger. He said that Woods is the only player he's ever caddied for -- and SW has looped for Floyd and Norman, among many others -- who can make swing adjustments mid-round and fix a problem on the fly.

[Golf FanHouse] Winners and Losers, 2009 British Open -- Golf FanHouse: Maybe if everyone on the course had 60 gazillion cameras up their butt every second of the game like Tiger does they would have video of moments of attitude on the course too!! And as if Tiger doesn't have enough of his own entourage they paired him with all the press from Ishikawa...so it's like a double dose of distractions.

[Press Tent] Live British Open Championship coverage: Round 3 - Press Tent: Did you notice the lukewarm reaction Englishman Lee Westwood got on the first tee Friday when he played with Tiger Woods and Ryo Ishikawa? Friend of the Blog and Golf.com's UK bureau chief Paul Mahoney calls it the "Scottish roar."

[Hooked On Golf Blog] Hooked On Golf Blog » The greatest improvment in Tiger Woods' game ...: Tiger switched drivers two weeks ago and hit a blistering 14/14 fairways in the final round of the Memorial en route to his 2nd victory this year.  His fairway percentage for all four days was 87.5%, the best of his career.  Hitting fairways in this week’s US OPEN is crucial and this bodes well for Tiger.  But is his driving the biggest improvement in Tiger’s 2009 game?  Nope.

[Watchdog] Jim Brown calls Tiger Woods 'terrible' on social issues (Watchdog ...: What right does Jim Brown have to tell someone like Tiger what he should do with his name? Funny how Jim Brown says Tiger should do all these things for the Black Community but says nothing about sweatshops in Southeast Asia which is just as much a part of Tiger Woods' geneaology.

[Simple Thoughts - Java and Web Blog] Steve Stricker fires 7-under 64 in final round to capture John ...: Turnberry,SCOTLAND - Tom Watson topped the early leaderboard as the British Open got underway in benign conditions Thursday at the Ailsa Course in Scotland's Turnberry Resort in Ayrshire.
