[Golf.com: Tours & News] Alan Shipnuck reviews the West Coast swing of the PGA Tour | Tours ...: Top Rookie Jason Day came in with all the hype, but after two months the most impressive freshman has been Dustin Johnson, 23, the Coastal Carolina All-America who hasn't missed a cut in five starts and had top 10s in Hawaii and Pebble Beach. Third in driving distance (307.5 yards) and 10th in putting average, Johnson is a big-time talent who will win sooner rather than later.
[The Golf Blog] The Golf Blog: Swami's 2006 bold predictions: If Wie does go winless again for the 3rd straight year, look for the PGA exemptions to start drying up the media attention to shift to others and total meltdown from Team Wie which includes multiple caddie changes and so long to David Ledbetter. Wie does not make a PGA or any open cut but has a respectable showing at the Sony Open.
[Golf for Beginners] Golf for Beginners - Michelle Wie already a winner at Sony Open: It seem far more important within the interests of the sponsors to maintain Michelle's "super-golfer" image no matter what. And to maintain the trail of lies ad excuses until she is actually able to perform at the level of their claims.
[SportsAgentBlog.com | Sports Agent News] The Primary Cut”¦goes to Q School - SportsAgentBlog.com | Sports ...: First, if a player had full status on the PGA Tour in 2007, and after the final stage of Q School this year they dont get their PGA Tour card and thus only have status on the Nationwide Tour in 2008”typically the endorsement deals/club deals would drop quite a bit. Second, if a player had status on the Nationwide Tour in 2007 and after the final stage this year they dont get their PGA Tour card and thus only retain their Nationwide status in 08”typically the endorsement deals/club deals would remain about the same.
[Divots Blog] Duval Ready to Try Again - Divots Blog on syracuse.com: Instead of playing 18 holes, Duval was "watching the kids and putting my bride to bed" in their home of Denver, where snow makes it impossible to practice year round. Susie was bed-ridden for three months but successfully gave birth to Sienna in August.
[Golf Talk Podcast] Tadd Fujikawa is the New Wie | The Sand Trap: In my opinion the ramp-up to Michelle's appearance at the Sony Open was underwhelming. We've seen her miss a couple too many cuts so far.
[Golf for Beginners] Golf for Beginners - Are Michelle Wie's PGA footsteps too big for ...: This is an awful lot to expect from a teen who has never won on the LPGA tour and to date has never put together 2 solid rounds in a PGA, or Nationwide event. The one thing it seems people forget is that Michelle is not playing in a vacuum, meaning everybody always talks about how much better she is getting and while that's true, the men get better as well and not just the top males, but also the juniors/amateurs/collegiate players.
[The Golf Blog] The Golf Blog: My Thoughts on the Masters: Yes, Augusta National might have gotten what it wanted, someone not shooting 20-under par, but this year, the tournament was set up for "greatness." And, because of the additional yardage, trees, and other adjustments to the golf course, the patrons at the course and patrons watching at home were deprived of something that makes the Masters special: The ability to go low, the ability to watch someone make a Sunday back nine charge, and the ability to not watch someone make bogey to win the tournament!!

[Golf for Beginners] Golf for Beginners - Is Michelle Wie shrinking Morgan Pressel's ...: Great comment from the guy saying that it's not the "hype" surrounding Michelle Wie that makes him watch her play, it's the excitement, energy and grace(all buzzwords for hype) she brings to the tournament--how about her skill, shotmaking, and competive fire. Finally TS it happened last year when Paula Creamer became the youngest to win on the LPGA tour(multi-round event), wow, she would be shattering a one year old record and don't forget that Amy Yang won the Australian Masters(granted a European tour event) at age 16 last year.
[Golf Style] David Duval - 2009 - GolfWRX.com: He was a great golfer, but I think a combination of time away, and lack of desire has finished him as a golfer who could break the top 50 in world rankings. You have to remember that when Duval was #1 in the world he was a friggen robot, and it totally ruined his personal life, I don't think he ever wants to go back to that even if that means he won't be as successful of a golfer.
